Located on the western periphery of the Dhauladhar mountain range of the Himalayas, Dalhousie offers glorious views of the contiguous snow-capped peaks and the Chamba valley. This beautiful and quaint hill town with its pristine air, verdant deodars, plentiful pines and regal cottages and villas, will make you fall in love with the place all over again! Spread on and across five hills, with twisty roads and stunning jungle trails that overlook vistas of wooded hills, waterfalls, springs and rivulets, it seems more like an artistic symphony of paint and talent than a real place!

Sight seeing
The town's old world uniqueness profoundly entrenched in the colonial mannerism of its buildings and bungalows remain a vital part of its charm. The four conserved churches of St. Patrick, St. Andrew, St. Francis, and St. John are extraordinary specimens of architectural majesty and decor.
Set out on a walk to 'Figure of Eight' from the Portreyn Mall. Cross the meeting places of Subhash Chowk and Gandhi Chowk where the colorfully-carved pictures provide a fascinating aspect to the walk.
Besides Moti Tibba hills, another walking circuit with splendid views of the mountains is the Bakrota Hills region, located very close to the centre of the town. It also boasts of one of the oldest Tibetan settlements and the Tibetan Handicrafts Centre where you can choose from a range of carpets, curios, and woollens.

Shopping
Shop for woolen shawls and local handicrafts at the Himachal Handloom Industry Emporium at
Thandi Sarak. The Tibetan Handicraft Centre serves as good hunting grounds for genuine artifacts.
