Tourist Visa for Europe

A tourist visa for Europe is a travel document that allows individuals to visit one or more countries in the Schengen Area for leisure, sightseeing, and recreational purposes. It enables travelers to explore Europe’s rich history, vibrant cities, and diverse cultural experiences.

Here’s a breakdown of the tourist visa for Europe:

Purpose: The primary purpose of a tourist visa is for recreational travel, including activities such as sightseeing, exploring historic cities, experiencing the local culture, and enjoying the natural landscapes.

Duration: The duration of a tourist visa for Europe typically varies depending on the visa type and the traveler's nationality. It generally allows for stays of up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

Validity: The validity of a tourist visa for Europe indicates the period during which the visa holder is allowed to enter the Schengen Area. The visa typically starts from the date of issuance and can range from a few days to several months, depending on the visa type.

Single or Multiple Entry: Tourist visas for Europe can be issued for single or multiple entries. A single-entry visa permits one entry into the Schengen Area, while a multiple-entry visa allows for several entries during the validity period.

Requirements: To obtain a tourist visa for Europe, travelers typically need to submit a visa application along with supporting documents, including a valid passport, passport-sized photographs, confirmed flight tickets, hotel reservations, proof of travel insurance, proof of financial means, and sometimes an invitation letter.

Application Process: Tourist visa applications for Europe are processed through the consulate or embassy of the country that is the main destination. For travel to multiple countries, the application should be submitted to the consulate of the country of first entry. Processing times and fees may vary depending on the specific country.

Conditions and Restrictions: Travelers holding a tourist visa for Europe are prohibited from engaging in employment or business activities during their stay. Additionally, they must comply with the laws and regulations of the Schengen Area countries and adhere to the conditions outlined in their visa.

Documents We Need

PLEASE NOTE - ALL MULTIPLE ENTRY VISAS ARE VALID FROM THE 1ST DATE OF ENTRY.

  • Nepali Passport Holders: All Nepali passport holders need to carry an NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the Ministry of External Affairs of Nepal (or Embassy of Nepal) when applying for a Schengen tourist visa.

  • Indian Passport Holders with Valid US Visa or US Green Card: Indian passport holders with a valid US visa (with more than 6 months validity) or a US Green Card (with passport validity of more than 6 months) can enter the Schengen Area for a tourist visit. They must carry the relevant documents and apply for the visa as per the respective Schengen country’s guidelines.

  • Children Below 19 Years of Age: Children under the age of 19 must be accompanied by an elder family member with the same surname. The visa application for children below 19 should be submitted along with the relative's visa or, if the relative already holds a valid Schengen visa, a copy of that visa should be shared during the child’s visa application.
